STRELITZIA PARVIFOLIA
Recommended Placement:

It grows well in a border of tropical plants or around a pool as they don't drop leaves

Description:

This is a flowering shrub native to South Africa. The exotic looking flowers are combined hues of orange, blue and white which resembles the head of a tropical bird. Flowers bloom intermittently throughout the year. The flowers and leaves are borne on stiff stems which makes them excellent for flower arrangements. Strelitzia parvifolia grows in clumps which can be split to make more plants if they get too big. They are very similar to Strelitzia reginae except that the leaves are more narrow and cup shaped at the top.
