It is intolerant towards alkaline soil. It requires moderate amount of water. Does well in coastal areas.

Description:

An attractive tree or shrub which is native to parts of the south east stretching from Texas to North Carolina. Prunus caroliniana has glossy light green leaves and small creamy white flowers which bloom in spring. Small black fruits follow the flowers. Can be grown as a single trunk tree, a multi stemmed tree or in column form for hedges. Currently we only grow the columnar form.
