Best used in large scale or commercial projects as it is usually too tall for smaller gardens

Description:

This is one of the tallest members of the palm family which can reach 100 feet. When mature, the palmate leaves droop to form a skirt of thatch around the trunk just below the fronds. This can be removed on a yearly basis. Very fast growing. Needs little water when mature.

Optimal Soil:

It requires well-drained soil; the type that works best is a combination of loam and sand.
